Has a Kicker Ever Won the Super Bowl MVP Award?
The Seattle Seahawks are well on their way to winning the second Super Bowl championship in franchise history.
The team leads the New England Patriots 29-7 with a little over four minutes left in the fourth quarter — and surprisingly the question most fans are asking as the game winds down is whether a kicker has ever won the Super Bowl MVP award before.
It could be argued that Seahawks kicker Jason Meyers was the best player in Super Bowl LX, especially given his record-breaking performance.

Meyers nailed all five of his field goal attempts, setting the record for most made field goals in a Super Bowl.
He scored the first 12 points of the game, and 15 of the first 22 points as he was responsible for 51.7% of the points Seattle scored in the game.

If Meyers were to win Super Bowl MVP honors, he would be the first kicker in NFL history to do so.
Meyers was the second-most accurate kicker during the regular season. He hit 41 of 48 field goals — an 85.4% success rate, second only to Houston Texans kicker Kai Fairbairn, who hit 44 of 48 kicks (91.7%).
The biggest threat to Meyers winning the MVP award is likely teammate Kenneth Walker, who rushed for 131 yards on 25 carries and added two catches for 26 yards. Walker gave the Patriots defense fits in the first half, and he kept several drives going with his elusiveness.
