Nancy Guthrie Update: Sheriff Confirms New ‘Activity’ at Nearby Home

“Law enforcement activity is underway” at a home near Nancy Guthrie’s, the missing mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, Pima County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed.

“Law enforcement activity is underway at a residence near E Orange Grove Rd & N First Ave related to the Guthrie case,” Pima the sheriff’s department said on X shortly at 11:47 p.m. local time (1:47 a.m. ET Friday). “Because this is a joint investigation, at the request of the FBI – no additional information is currently available.”

News reports of activity in the area emerged late Friday.

“Reporting that current law enforcement activity is surrounding a home belonging to a former county attorney is NOT accurate,” the sheriff’s department said on X shortly before 11 p.m.

Newsweek contacted the sheriff’s department via a contact form on its website early Saturday.

The update comes as investigators continue to follow up on leads nearly two weeks after the 84‑year‑old Guthrie was reported missing from her Tucson home.

Authorities have said she is believed to have been taken from the residence against her will, and the FBI has increased its reward to $100,000 for information leading to her location or an arrest.

This is a developing story. More to follow.
