Szoboszlai Could Become Liverpool’s Captain

Dutch player Virgil van Dijk believes Dominik Szoboszlai could take over the captain’s armband at Liverpool in the English football league.

The 34-year-old Dutch defender currently holds the position, but in an interview with ESPN, he emphasized that the Hungarian midfielder has all the qualities to become a leader in time.

It is really up to the head coach, but Dominik’s exemplary performance has already stood out this season,” said the center back, adding that his teammate’s performance has been outstanding even in this weaker season.

“He still has room for improvement, which is natural, but I hope he will be a very important member of Liverpool in the coming years,” he said.

Dominik Szoboszlai’s contract is valid until the summer of 2028, and the club is currently in negotiations for an extension. The player’s agent, Mátyás Esterházy, also confirmed this week that they do not want to change clubs.
