Jacob Fatu Details Dramatic Dental Surgery During WWE Hiatus
Jacob Fatu has finally come out with the details regarding his recent absence from WWE programming. The Samoan Werewolf had been a dominant force before he was written off television in October 2025. He was taken out by a backstage attack that many WWE fans suspected was the work of Drew McIntyre.
While he was away from the ring, Fatu took the time to address some serious health concerns. He recently spoke with Busted Open to discuss the physical toll he was dealing with behind the scenes.
Fatu revealed that he underwent a significant dental procedure that required him to have 11 dozen teeth removed. He explained that the process was quite extensive and forced him to stay home for several months.
He recalled advice from his uncle, Rikishi, regarding the nature of the wrestling business when a performer is out of the public eye. Fatu realized how quickly the industry moves on when an athlete is no longer appearing on weekly television.

He mentioned that while the professional calls ended, his personal life became much more demanding once he was around his family. He noticed that as soon as people saw him at home, the requests for help began to increase.
Despite the long recovery, Fatu has remained focused on his eventual return to the top of the card. He has previously held the United States Championship and was a key member of the group now known as the MFTs.
WWE fans have been vocal about their desire to see Fatu back in a prominent role on the blue brand. His unique blend of speed and power has made him a standout since his debut in June 2024.
The Samoan Werewolf has already proven that he can hang with babyface stars like Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. His return in early 2026 was expected to shake up the championship picture significantly.
Fatu has often been cited as a future face of the company alongside other rising stars like Bron Breakker and Oba Femi. He spent much of 2025 feuding with Solo Sikoa after a fallout within the family faction.
The drama within the Bloodline saga has continued to evolve even during the time Fatu was sidelined. Now that he is back, he appears to be more motivated than ever to reclaim his spot.
He has officially returned to Friday Night SmackDown and has immediately made his presence felt. He recently participated in a triple-threat qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber on February 13, 2026.
Fatu competed against Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes in an attempt to secure a spot in the chamber match. While he was unsuccessful in winning that specific bout, his performance showed that he has not lost a step.
On the February 20 episode of SmackDown in Fort Lauderdale, Fatu confronted Rhodes and expressed his frustration. He argued that Rhodes only won the qualifier because of the interference of Drew McIntyre.
McIntyre is the current Undisputed WWE Champion and has become a primary target for Fatu in recent weeks. The Samoan Werewolf has been very vocal about wanting a match for the title as soon as possible.
General Manager Nick Aldis has asked Fatu to remain patient, but the heel is clearly reaching his breaking point. Fans are looking toward Elimination Chamber in Chicago to see if Fatu will find a way to involve himself in the title picture.
