Nick Sirianni Drops Cryptic Hint on AJ Brown’s Future With Eagles
The 2025 season was nothing short of a disappointment for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The then-defending Super Bowl champions were believed to be favorite to repeat as world champions, and the team seemed to have too much talent to fail.
But an inept job done by offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, which made Philadelphia’s offense inexplosive and predictable, coupled with the outward and public airing of grievances by star wide receiver A.J. Brown put a strain on things.

Several times Brown took to social media to make it known he wasn’t happy with his role in the offense, which was brought to a head in a report from The Athletic’s Dianna Russini that revealed there was a divide in the locker room between Brown and star quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Given how Brown was vocal about not being happy in Philadelphia, many have speculated he could be traded this offseason. That belief only got stronger after what head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters this week at the NFL combine.

“Will A.J. be here next season? I think we’re still in a spot, like, I can’t guarantee how anything is going to play out into next season,” Sirianni stated. “I’m thinking I’m going to be the coach next season, but you can’t guarantee anything past tomorrow.”
Brown has been linked to several teams in trade rumors over the last few weeks including the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, and San Francisco 49ers, among others.
And if Brown is made available, there will likely be dozens more of interested teams inquiring about acquiring the 28-year-old three-time Pro Bowler who’s logged 1,000 yards or more and seven or more touchdowns in six of his seven NFL seasons.

However, Sirianni also implied the Eagles plan to do everything they can to convince Brown to stay put next year as well.
“Yeah, my expectation is he wants to be here,” Sirianni added. “And obviously you want good players like that in your building. As Howie said, it’s hard to get good players in this league. A.J.’s a great player and A.J. is a good teammate and A.J. is a good person. Does he want to be here? Yes. Do I want him to be here? Yes.”
