American entrepreneur Elon Musk has reacted to statistics on his X social media page, comparing the number of rape cases in Hungary and the UK.
The post he reacted to revealed that while there are 477 cases of rape in Hungary, in contrast, around 70,000 such crimes are reported annually in the United Kingdom.
The X post that Elon Musk reacted to also stated that
the European Union’s goal is “to bring down Prime Minister Viktor Orbán” and “flood Hungary with rapists”.
Based on data from 2024, more than 71,000 rapes were committed in England in one year, the British Office for National Statistics (ONS) pointed out. This is not only a historic high, but also the highest figure in Europe: with 114 rapes per 100,000 people, the UK has overtaken Sweden, which for years has topped the list with the most serious sexual crime statistics on the continent.
The figures are staggering:
in 2000, only 7,801 cases were reported, meaning that in twenty-five years, the number of reported rapes has increased nearly ninefold. Between 2023 and 2024 alone, there was a 5 percent increase, which, according to the British Office for National Statistics (ONS), is greater than ever before.
The sharp increase in the number of rape cases is most evident in two European countries, the United Kingdom and Sweden, which have accepted the highest proportion of immigrants from outside Europe. By contrast, Hungary’s lower reported figures are largely linked to restrictive migration policies.
The owner of X (formerly known as Twitter) kept his message on the social media page simple by stating:

emphasizing the huge discrepancy in crime statistics between the two countries.
