100kg WW2 aerial bomb found in Debrecen
A 100kg second world war Soviet-made aerial bomb has been found during construction work in central Debrecen, a communications officer of the Hungarian Armed Forces said on Wednesday.
The bomb has a sharpened ignitor which must be disassembled at the scene to allow the device’s transfer to a safe depo, Milan Gajdos told MTI.
Police have cordoned off a 100-metre area around the junction of Timar and Varga Streets, he said, adding that three residential homes had to be vacated.
