3 Free Agents the Cowboys Should Target to Rebound in 2025
The Dallas Cowboys ended the 2024 season with an uncharacteristic 7-10 record. The team dealt with massive injuries on both sides of the ball, leading to questions about how the team can compete in 2025.

Jerry Jones will have his work cut out for him, along with dealing with first-time head coach Brian Schottenheimer. The pair must work together to ensure the Cowboys bring in some much-needed help via free agency.
With many roster holes to fill, and some more important than others — here are three free agents the Cowboys should target.

Stefon Diggs might be a bit older, but he has proven that his grit is more than enough to churn out some solid production. Diggs secured 496 yards and three touchdowns before he unfortunately tore his ACL in Week 8.
Diggs could be recovered in time to make his regular-season debut in 2025, but might also miss a few weeks due to the recovery process. The Texans traded for the star receiver in the 2024 offseason, leading to the final three years of his contract being voided.
With Diggs approaching free agency, the Cowboys should be inquiring about whether they can get this veteran for a potential one-year deal. The Cowboys need receiver help, as they only have one viable starter in CeeDee Lamb.
Adding Diggs could help open up the playbook far more given his penchant for running great routes.
Ronnie Stanley, T – Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens might allow Ronnie Stanley to test free agency, and if that happens — the Cowboys need to jump on making an offer immediately. Stanley would be one of the better offensive linemen available and started all 17 games in 2024.
Stanley is turning 31, but he has major upside on a potential two-year, $20 million deal. The Cowboys might need to offer a higher AAV to land him, but they should do so to solidify their offensive line, especially with Terrence Steele being a cut candidate.
If the Cowboys cut Steele, they should be aiming to land Stanley to solidify the starting five.
Jourdan Lewis, CB – Dallas Cowboys
This pick might be cheating a bit as Jourdan Lewis currently on the Cowboys team already. However, he is also a pending free agent that is likely to draw major interest from many teams.
The Cowboys have a secondary issue due to DaRon Bland missing most of 2024 with an injury, and Trevon Diggs in danger of missing 2025 with a significant injury. Diggs is also a prime trade candidate for Dallas, so there will need to be help in the form of resigning Lewis.
Dallas might want to draft a younger replacement for Bland and Diggs via the draft, and that would make resigning Lewis that much more important.
