5 NFL Teams On Upset Alert Ahead of Week 9
Each week in the NFL we see upsets on the schedule. It’s part of the beauty that is football and it makes the games so much fun to pay attention to.
But which teams should be on alert for this week? Here are five teams that are on upset alert heading into Week 9 of the NFL season.
5. Los Angeles Chargers, @ Cleveland Browns
The Browns knocked off the Baltimore Ravens last week with backup quarterback Jameis Winston under center. He will get the start once again for Cleveland and look to continue getting this offense on track.
The Chargers are 4-3 on the season and a win could go a long way toward a potential playoff run. But if they aren’t careful, the former No. 1 overall pick in Winston could lead the Browns to their second straight win.
4. Minnesota Vikings, vs Indianapolis Colts
The Vikings have dropped two straight games in a row and suddenly look vulnerable in the NFC. They get a matchup with the Colts who just benched starting quarterback Anthony Ricardson but that could be for the better.
Veteran Joe Flacco has played better this year and the offense looked much more polished with him under center. Flacco can lead Indianapolis to a road win over Minnesota so the Vikings will need to not overlook this Colts team.
3. Cincinnati Bengals, vs Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders haven’t been very good this year but they have been feisty. They play with an attitude and if Cincinnati isn’t careful here, an upset could take place.
The Bengals are likely to be without star wide receiver Tee Higgins this week, potentially limiting their offensive attack. Cincinnati hasn’t looked the same without Higgins in the lineup so the Raiders may be able to take advantage. It will be up to Las Vegas to limit the turnovers in this contest.
2. Seattle Seahawks, vs Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles got a massive win last week against the Vikings and it could have kept their season alive. They have wide receiver Cooper Kupp back in the mix and their offense looked much better.
While Puka Nacua is still dealing with some injury issues, Los Angeles could start to make a run with their guys back in place. Seattle will need to tread carefully in this game, otherwise, the Rams could leave the Pacific Northwest with a victory.
1. Buffalo Bills, vs Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins got starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa back last week and he looked a little rusty. After missing multiple weeks due to a concussion, Tagovailoa was due to start things slow.
He still threw for 234 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Arizona Cardinals. But now he gets a chance to knock off the Bills again and Miami’s offense clicked last week. Buffalo is on full upset alert for this weekend’s game against the Dolphins.
