A lot of wrestling fans think Bret Hart is the greatest wrestler ever. He was incredibly skilled in the ring, way ahead of his time technically, and he had the personality to match. That’s why he became such a big star. He won many championships and was the main attraction at some of the biggest wrestling events.
Bret Hart had a hugely successful career, but even someone as accomplished as him has some things he never managed to do. There are certain titles he never won, specific matches he never had, and opportunities that just didn’t work out. Even though he’s a legend, there are still a few “what ifs” in his wrestling story.

AEW has brought in a lot of wrestling legends from Bret Hart’s time, like Jake Roberts, Arn Anderson, and Sting. Tony Khan, who runs AEW, likes to work with these older wrestlers and give them proper respect. AEW is also keeping Owen Hart’s memory alive with their tournaments.
Hart did make a short appearance in AEW early on, where he showed off the AEW World Championship. Many fans thought this might mean he was going to sign with the company, but that never happened.
Win The Hardcore Title
Hart won a ton of championships during his wrestling career, making him one of the most successful wrestlers ever. But he never held the Hardcore Championship, which was a pretty popular title for a while.

Bret’s wrestling style was very different from the hardcore style, which is all about wild, violent matches. That’s why it would have been really interesting to see him with that title. It would have pushed him out of his usual comfort zone and made for some really entertaining matches.

Work Hell In A Cell Match
The Hell In A Cell match is a legendary wrestling match, perfect for big rivalries, and Bret Hart would have been amazing in it. These matches are all about telling a story, and Bret was one of the best storytellers in the ring. He would have found clever ways to use the cell as a weapon.
It makes you wonder who he could have fought inside the cell. A final showdown with Shawn Michaels would have been incredible. Or, if Bret’s health hadn’t stopped him, a final fight with Mr. McMahon in the cell would have been the ultimate end to their feud.
Work For TNA
TNA used to sign a lot of ex-WWE wrestlers, even if they weren’t in their prime anymore, but they never got Hart. He would have been a huge draw for them back then.
If Bret hadn’t gotten a career-ending injury in WCW, he probably would have made some part-time appearances in TNA since he didn’t want to go back to WWE at that point. But in 2010, he did return to WWE, partly to compete with TNA’s hype after they hired Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff.
Never Win NJPW Title
Hart wrestled in New Japan Pro-Wrestling a lot, showing his amazing wrestling skills to fans all over the world. He was popular and brought in crowds, but he never won a championship there.
Hart had a few chances in title matches, but he couldn’t quite get the victory. He would have been a fantastic champion for them because his wrestling style was perfect for their matches, but it just didn’t happen.
Win NWA Title
Hart won many big wrestling titles in his career, but he never got to hold the famous NWA World Heavyweight Championship. That’s a title that many legendary wrestlers have won, and Bret would have fit right in with that group.
He would have been great traveling around the world with that belt, having awesome matches and making the NWA brand even bigger. Sadly, even though he did wrestle for the NWA, he never got the chance to be their world champion.
Be Sole Royal Rumble Winner
Winning the Royal Rumble is a massive achievement in wrestling, and many famous wrestlers have done it. Hart technically won the Rumble in 1994, but he had to share the victory with Lex Luger.
They both finished the match at the same time, so while Bret can say he won, it wasn’t a solo win like most Rumble winners. The fans clearly liked Bret more than Lex, so WWE decided to have Bret win the WWE Championship again at WrestleMania.
