A$AP Rocky seemingly reacted to losing a Grammy on Sunday night, breaking his silence on social media for the first time during his ongoing felony assault trial.

Why It Matters

A$AP Rocky, the 36-year-old rapper legally named Rakim Mayers, is in the middle of a tense trial in Los Angeles. He is accused of shooting at his former friend A$AP Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron, in Hollywood in November 2021.

If convicted on all charges, A$AP Rocky could face 24 years in prison.

The “Fashion Killa” rapper has mostly refrained from speaking to reporters outside of the courthouse in this trial and a gag order was implemented to prohibit the prosecution and defense from speaking to the press about the trial.

No, A$AP Rocky was released from jail the same day he was arrested in April 2022 on a $550,000 bond.

A$AP Rocky received a 2025 Grammy Awards nomination in the Best Music Video category for his hit “Tailor Swif.” However, come Sunday night’s award ceremony, Kendrick Lamar ultimately won the award for his Drake diss track “Not Like Us.”

A$AP Rocky has lost the Best Music Video Grammy two other times: 2014 for “F*****’ Problems” and 2016 for “LSD.”
