AEW Superstar Sidelined With Major Injury: Report
🎙️ Voice is AI-generated. Inconsistencies may occur.
An unfortunate update has emerged on the status of AEW star Wardlow. Just after making his return from a year-long absence, the former TNT Champion has sustained another injury that is expected to keep him on the sidelines for a considerable amount of time.
According to a report from Fightful Select, the injury is feared to be a torn pectoral muscle. The news is a setback for the powerhouse, who had just made his comeback to AEW television.
The Wardlow Injury
The Fightful report states that sources within AEW believe Wardlow suffered the injury almost immediately upon his return. It has been suggested that the injury may have occurred during his return angle.
After being out of action for over a year with previous injuries, Wardlow had been medically cleared for several months. His return to television was delayed because he was filming the first two seasons of the “American Gladiators” reboot. The report notes that talent backstage were “bummed out about the news” given how long Wardlow had waited to get back on TV. There is a possibility that he could remain on television in a non-wrestling, enforcer role during his recovery.

The Career of Wardlow
Wardlow was one of AEW’s first breakout, homegrown stars. He was introduced as the silent, stoic bodyguard for MJF, a role that eventually led to one of the most celebrated babyface turns in the company’s history. After breaking free from MJF, Wardlow went on a dominant run, capturing the TNT Championship on three separate occasions.
His “Powerbomb Symphony” became one of the most popular and protected finishing moves in the company. This latest injury is an unfortunate and ill-timed obstacle in his path back to the main event scene. We wish him a speedy recovery.
