Another Federal Judge Rebukes Trump’s Birthright Citizenship Order
On Wednesday, a federal judge issued a second nationwide halt to President Donald Trump’s executive order aimed at ending birthright citizenship for individuals born in the U.S. to parents who are in the country illegally.
The judge emphasized that citizenship is a “most precious right.”
U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman stated that no court in the nation has supported the Trump administration’s interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment.
“This court will not be the first,” she said.
She added: “Citizenship is a most precious right, expressly granted by the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution.”
