Assassin’s Creed Shadows Price, Editions, Pre-Order Bonuses and PC Requirements Explained
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed many times, but the action RPG is finally in a good state as evidenced by our recent hands-on preview. The upcoming sequel will take players to 16th-century Feudal Japan, following two protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke. Players will realize their ninja and samurai fantasies in Shadows, and Ubisoft is doing everything to deliver a quality experience.
Everything you need to know about Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Price and Editions
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available in two editions:
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows Standard Edition – $69.99
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows Digital Deluxe Edition – $89.99
Those who pre-order the game will get access to the Thrown to the Dogs quest and the Claws of Awaji expansion.
The Digital Deluxe Edition of the game includes the following:
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows
- Sekiryu Dual Pack
- Sekiryu Hideout Pack
- 5 mastery points
- Thrown to the Dogs quest (pre-order bonus)
- Claws of Awaji expansion (pre-order bonus)
You can also access the Deluxe Edition on day one if you subscribe to Ubisoft+.
Will Assassin’s Creed Shadows Get Expansions?
There will be only one expansion to Assassin’s Creed Shadows, called Claws of Awaji, releasing later in 2025. The expansion will add “over 10 hours of additional content.” In it, Naoe and Yasuke will explore a new island, and players can use a new weapon type, the Bō, along with new abilities.
There is no season pass or expansion pass for Shadows. Everyone who pre-orders the game will receive the expansion for free, while others can buy it separately post-launch.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows PC Features Explained
Shadows is the first Assassin’s Creed game built from the ground up for the current generation of consoles. This means that ray tracing is core to the game design, although PC players can still run the game without ray tracing capable hardware.
The game will include ray-traced global illumination and reflections, along with an in-game benchmark tool. Like past PC ports, Shadows will support ultrawide resolutions and have an uncapped frame rate.
It will also ship with DLSS 3.7, FSR 3.1, and XeSS 2 for upscaling the image and gaining performance. Those who have an AMD Eyefinity and Nvidia Surround sound setup can also take advantage of the same in the game.
