Bears Connected to Major Trade to Go All-In on Playoff Chase
After the first two weeks of the 2025 NFL season, there was a lot of frustration surrounding the Chicago Bears. They lost both of their first two outings against the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions respectively.
Despite a lot of outside noise, including calls for quarterback Caleb Williams to be benched, the team has rebounded strong.
Over the last four games, the Bears have gone 4-0. They have defeated the Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders, and New Orleans Saints in those games.

With the recent winning streak, Chicago has become a potential buyer ahead of the NFL trade deadline. In Week 8, the Bears will go for their fifth straight win on the road against the Baltimore Ravens.
Should Chicago decide to get aggressive ahead of the trade deadline, who could the front office potentially target? There are a few intriguing options to consider. One of them currently plays for the New York Jets.
Isaac Zuniga of Heavy has suggested that the Bears pursue a trade for Jets’ star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.
“Williams is a proven run-stuffer who can also dominate as a pass rusher. The Bears have the draft capital and a culture trending in the right direction, and the financials are something that can always be worked out to ensure Williams would be happy,” Zuniga wrote. “Plus, Chicago should already have leverage if the reports on Williams being unhappy in New York are true.”
Williams would be a massive get for Chicago. He would plug up the middle of the defensive front and would be a top-tier leader for the Bears as well. It’s the kind of move that could make them a scary team in the NFC.
So far this season with New York, Williams has played in seven games. He has racked up 31 total tackles to go along with a sack and three forced fumbles. Last season with the Jets, he recorded 37 tackles and six sacks.
Standing in at 6-foot-3 and just a shade over 300 pounds, Williams brings size, athleticism, and the ability to both stop the run and rush the passer. Those are skill-sets that Chicago could use.

Whether or not the Bears will have interest in Williams remains to be seen. What New York would want in a trade for him also is unknown.
That being said, Williams would make a ton of sense for Chicago. He’s a name worth keeping an eye on in the coming days.
