Camila Olmos update: Teen’s body identified, cause of death confirmed


The body found in the search for Camila Mendoza Olmos has been identified as belonging to the 19-year-old who went missing after leaving her home in Texas on Christmas Eve.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement cited by multiple media outlets on Wednesday that a medical examiner had determined she died by suicide from a gunshot wound to the head.

Mendoza Olmos left her home in the San Antonio area on foot on the morning of Wednesday, December 24. A massive search for her ensued.

Her body was found close to her home.
