Cat Gets His Own Cat, Internet Sobbing Over Bond

A cat owner from Tulsa, Oklahoma, shared footage of their feline before and after getting him his very own kitten, and TikTok users can’t cope with the way their precious bond has evolved.

The viral video, shared to TikTok last week by @cheddartheragdoll, shows the tabby cat named Moose looking sad and bored all by himself, before being joined by his new ragdoll brother, Cheddar, who completely changed his life.

In the second part of the clip, the two kitties can be seen hanging around together all the time, snuggling, napping and grooming one another.

Newsweek has reached out to @cheddartheragdoll for comment via TikTok comments. We could not verify the details of the case.

While some cats are totally fine on their own, others, like Moose, may need the company of a fellow feline to thrive. But how do you know whether your cat will enjoy a sibling or not?

According to pet health and wellness website Pet MD, if your cat feels lonely and in need of a furry companion, they will show signs like clinginess, eating and/or sleeping disorders, destructive behaviors, and litter-box issues.

Their overall energy will also experience a shift. They may become lethargic when feeling lonely, bored or depressed. This can also happen when your kitty seeks more interaction with you.

If you decide to bring in a new cat, you must plan their introduction carefully and timely, and it should be carried out gradually to avoid overwhelming the pets, as this is the one step that will set the basis for their future relationship.

Before introducing them, you should ensure each kitty has a private area their sibling can’t access, where they can isolate as needed. Experts also advise practicing scent swapping before introducing them face-to-face.

Their interactions should be fully supervised until you are sure they will not harm each other.
