CeeDee Lamb Wants to Retire With Cowboys After Massive Contract Extension
CeeDee Lamb signed a four-year, $136 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 26. Now that the Cowboys secured the All-Pro wide receiver, people inevitably want to know what’s next for Lamb.

On Thursday, Lamb made it clear what his next step is after becoming one of the highest-paid receivers in the league.
“Staying here. The goal is obviously to get here [at the top of the profession], but to really show how elite you are is how long you stay here. … I would love to be here another contract and another one, and retire here,” Lamb told reporters.
Lamb wants his legacy to remain in Dallas. The 25-year-old had a career-best season in 2023 where he caught 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. He’s a pivotal player in the Dallas offense.
“I don’t think anybody in the NFL really wants to just be hopping around [from team to team] and no offense to the ones that [have], but yeah, I don’t see that,” Lamb said via the team’s transcript. “I never saw that for my future and I always wanted to be in one area, and Dallas is that area for me. I would love to be here for another contract, and another one. You know what I’m saying? So continue to build on this legacy that’s already been placed ahead of me and help hold this torch.”
Lamb was a holdout for the majority of training camp, but the star receiver and the Cowboys came to an agreement less than two weeks before the regular season opener.
Dallas has now turned their attention to Dak Prescott, who is awaiting a new contract extension. The quarterback’s future with the Cowboys depends on his performance this season.
“I feel like 24 hours can really change your life,” Lamb said. “Obviously, it’s done that for me and throughout the process that I went through, and this is Dak’s second time at the table, so I know he’s very familiar with this and how Jerry’s working. I have no doubt that they’re going to get the job done but, again, he can’t win a game by himself.”
The Cowboys open the season against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8. Now that Lamb landed his big payday, he’s prepared to help the Cowboys chase a Super Bowl title.
“I’m ready to compete.”
