Dolphins players gave support to Hill as he was taken on the cart, and it was announced that Hill’s mother also came to the field to show her support. Clearly, the injury appears to be very serious.
This led to Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes reacting to the injury of his fallen former teammate.
Mahomes took to X to state, “Prayers up man,” with the praying emojis added to his caption. It is a classy act from Mahomes, as the pair shared many memories before the blockbuster trade that sent him to the Dolphins.

Hill was the subject of many trade assumptions, especially following the Dolphins’ rough 0-3 start. Many pundits and analysts were tying Hill back to his former team, though a trade never materialized. Now, that trade will not happen.
Mahomes and Hill shared five seasons with one another as Hill was drafted by Kansas City in 2016, and Mahomes came in during the 2017 season. There were plenty hoping that they could reunite, but Hill was very adamant about staying in Miami.
The hope for the Dolphins and Mahomes is that Hill did not suffer a serious injury that will keep him out for the rest of the 2025 season. However, the scene appeared to be very serious, and the Dolphins announced that Hill had to be taken to a local hospital for more testing and imaging.
