China’s Xi Congratulates Trump, Calls for ‘New Era’ of US Ties
Chinese President Xi Jinping has congratulated Donald Trump on his win in Tuesday’s U.S. presidential contest.
“President Xi pointed out that China and the U.S. gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation,” Xie Feng, China’s ambassador to Washington, said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Xi reportedly said he hopes both countries will pursue “win-win cooperation,” strengthen communication, manage differences, and “find the right way for the two countries to get along in the new era, for the benefit of both countries and the world.”
This is a developing story.
