Cleveland Browns Insider Sends Eye-Opening Message About Shedeur Sanders

Shedeur Sanders has been one of the most talked about prospects in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft. Over the last couple of months, he has been linked countless times as a potential target for the Cleveland Browns, who have the No. 2 overall pick.

While the Browns have been connected to him a lot, they seem likely to head in a different direction. With under two weeks remaining until the draft gets underway, both Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter are being talked about as more likely options.

That being said, Cleveland still needs a quarterback. Joe Flacco is their projected starter with Kenny Pickett being their backup. The Browns need a long-term franchise-caliber quarterback, and Sanders could be that guy.

Even though his chances of landing in Cleveland seem to be diminishing, one Browns insider spoke out and sent a strong message about him.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com shared her opinion about Sanders. She thinks he could be a franchise quarterback for Cleveland, but she does have some concerns.

“I believe that Sanders has enough elite traits to be the quarterback of the future for the Browns or another team,” Cabot wrote. “The only thing that gives me a modicum of pause is the fact that he’s more of a dropback passer, and the game is trending so much toward the dual-threat quarterbacks. The Browns just must decide if he’s the right fit for them, even though he’s well-suited to the traditional version of Kevin Stefanski’s offense.”

Sanders put together an impressive college football career. He played two years at Jackson State and two years with the Colorado Buffaloes.

As a whole, he completed 70.1 percent of his passing attempts for 14,347 yards, 134 touchdowns, and just 27 interceptions.

He was elite at taking care of the football. Even under pressure, Sanders was poised and did not make mistakes. That is a skill many young NFL quarterbacks do not possess.

While fans should not expect to see Sanders be the pick at No. 2, he can’t be counted out. Andrew Berry and the Browns’ front office could make a last-second choice to swing for the fences on the long-term quarterback they desperately need.

Only time will tell, but April 24 will be here quickly. Sanders won’t have to wait much longer to find out where he’ll begin the next chapter of his career.
