If you are having trouble solving today’s Connections puzzle, Newsweek has the clues to help you beat the game.
The popular word association game was launched by The New York Times in 2023, and now it is one of the outlet’s most popular games, alongside Wordle.
Connections was created by Wyna Liu, a crossword editor at the NYT, and her puzzles can also be found in other outlets including The New Yorker and AV Club.

How to Play ‘Connections’
If you’re a first-time Connections player, then you are in luck because the game is fairly simple.
In Connections, players must categorize 16 words into four groups based on association. The categories are delineated by color in terms of difficulty. For instance, yellow and green are considered easier, while blue and purple are thought to be more difficult.
If they get stuck, players can use a shuffle button to mix up the words on the screen.
In an interview with Newsweek in July 2024, Liu said that, to solve the puzzle, “my best piece of advice is to wait as long as you can before guessing. You may see the board and have completely identified the category, seeing five words that could belong in that category. Don’t try to guess the four words in that category, because, even though you know what the fifth member is, you won’t know which of the four it might not be.”

Blue category: Attractions Iconically Different From Their Original Forms

Purple category: Associated With “The Dude” Lebowski
Purple words: Bathrobe, Bowling, Rug, White Russian
Congratulations if you were able to crack today’s puzzle, it was a tough one! If not, there will be another opportunity to beat the game on Tuesday, as new puzzles are released at midnight in your local time zone.
