Conor McGregor Hints at WWE Appearance After Cody Rhodes Invitation
In recent years, celebrities have been stepping up their performances when making appearances with WWE.
Highlights of celebrity wrestlers in the past few years include Bad Bunny, former WWE United States Champion Logan Paul, and Snoop Dogg, who saved a segment during WrestleMania 39 Night 2 with a People’s Elbow on The Miz.
Now, it appears that there is another celebrity who could potentially make their in-ring debut.
In a recent interview with The Schmo, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes revealed that he believes former UFC Champion Conor McGregor would thrive in WWE.
“I’ll say that one person I’d love to see just dip his toes in the WWE would be Conor McGregor,” Rhodes said. “I think Conor should give it a try. The competition environment at WWE is different from what people might expect—it’s so much about who’s the most disciplined, the most professional, getting to the finish line, making it to a WrestleMania.
“Someone like him, who’s competed at the highest level in so many incredible fights, maybe it’s time to explore the more entertainment side of sports. I think he’d be great at it.”
Later, McGregor responded to Rhodes’ appearance on X, hinting that he would “see you soon.”
McGregor has previously had interactions with WWE, even going so far as to get in a Twitter feud with Paul Heyman and go so far as to challenge Roman Reigns to a match at SummerSlam 2023.
There has been a long history of former athletes making their way to WWE, with multiple mixed martial artists finding success in professional wrestling.
Dan Severn was an incredibly successful MMA fighter, winning the UFC 5 tournament and becoming the final person to win the UFC Superfight Championship.

In professional wrestling, Severn became a star for the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), winning the NWQ United Kingdom Heavyweight Championship once and the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship twice.
Ken Shamrock is another MMA fighter from that era who became a professional wrestling story, having multiple memorable feuds in the then-WWF. He also had memorable runs in NWA and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
Finally, Ronda Rousey is another UFC Champion who excelled during their time in WWE, winning multiple championships and helping elevate the women’s division.
Given his fighting history and personality, McGregor could easily make an impact in WWE.
