Construction output volume, based on raw data, lagged behind the previous year’s level by 3.4% in March 2025. Among the main construction groups the construction of buildings lessened by 0.1%, that of civil engineering by 8.9%. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices construction output was over the February 2025 level by 0.7%. Construction producer prices increased by 5.4% in the 1st quarter of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year.
In March 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year output in both main groups of construction decreased: the construction of buildings by 0.1%, that of civil engineering by 8.9%.
Among the divisions of construction, production volume grew by 27.8% in the construction of buildings, and by 1.8% in civil engineering. Production in specialised construction activities, having the largest weight in construction, decreased by 20.1%.
The volume of new contracts concluded went down by 27.3%, year-on-year. Within it the volume of contracts for the construction of buildings fell by 41.3% compared to the high base of the previous year, those for civil engineering works increased by 10.4%.
The volume of the end-of-March stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 3.8% higher than one year earlier, within it the volume of contracts was down by 14.7% for the construction of buildings and grew by 20.7% for civil engineering works compared to March 2024.
In the first three months of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year construction output volume decreased by 5.7% .
Within the divisions of construction, prices increased in the 1st quarter of 2025 equally by 6.0% in civil engineering and in the in the greatest weight carrying specialized construction activities, and went up by 4.1% in the construction of buildings, compared to the 1st quarter of 2024.
Construction producer prices were 2.2% higher than in the 4th quarter of 2024.
