Cowboys Trade Leaked by Jerry Jones Finally Revealed
Just a few days before the Dallas Cowboys were set to face off against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football, owner Jerry Jones hinted the team made a trade for an immediate impact player. However, after Monday night’s 27-17 loss to the Cardinals, Jones backed off that comment, suggesting to reporters that no trade had been consummated just yet.
“The answer to your question? No, there is no trade right now. We would have to make anything happen tomorrow. I want to be real clear about that. But there is one that I can do Without question, there is one I can do. There is not one, but there is one that I can do and I’m leaning toward doing it,” he said.
“I just don’t want another team, if I’m interested in completing [the trade], I don’t want another team to step in and get it. I’ve had that happen several times, and it happens. That’s what’s going on out here. And in the NFL, nothing’s done until both parties have given their submission to the league office at the same time. And that doesn’t even matter. That’s why I would say there’s no trade.”

Fast forward to Tuesday, Nov. 4 and it appears Jones was initially telling the truth. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Cowboys have traded for Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson.
“Cowboys are finalizing a trade to acquire Bengals MLB Logan Wilson, sources tell me and Todd Archer. Earlier Monday, Jerry Jones told Stephen A. Smith that the Cowboys have made a trade ahead of Tuesday’s NFL deadline. It is expected to be for Wilson, for whom the Bengals have been seeking a sixth-round pick,” Schefter said.
Dallas fell to 3-5-1 on the season with Monday night’s loss and sits as the No. 11 seed in the NFC – well outside of a playoff spot with eight games remaining on the schedule.
