Cowboys Vet Sends His Brother a Message Before Battle vs Jets

It has to feel like a dream come true for a family to raise two brothers who eventually get drafted to play in the NFL. That was the case for Azareye’h and Juanyeh Thomas, who are getting prepared to face off against each other this Sunday as the Dallas Cowboys face off against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

However, there hasn’t been much excitement shown for the matchup. Still, more focused than anything, as older brother and Cowboys cornerback, Juanyeh Thomas, gave his statements before the game this week, making it known he doesn’t want to communicate with younger brother Azareye’h until after gametime.

“Don’t call my phone all week” Juanyeh declared on X and also mentioned claiming that his brother was “talking crazy to him” earlier in the week as well.

Words exchanged between the two show the competition brewing. In this matchup, both teams seek to gain ground in their respective divisions, and the Jets hope to get into the win column.

Defense is already a concern going into the game, so that will only increase the motivation for each brother to get the best of the other for an important early-season victory.

Juanyeh Thomas is in his third season after signing as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2023 from Georgia Tech. He will actually get the start at safety after the injury to long-term Malik Hooker, who was placed on injured reserve. Azareye’h Thomas was drafted by New York in the 3rd round of the 2025 NFL Draft with the 73rd overall pick out of Florida State.

Although the competition will be intense, the two still appreciate the opportunity to play in the same NFL game against each other in a tweet and repost from Azareye’h and Juanyeh, expressing gratitude for the opportunity.

“Going to be etched into history forever tomorrow, brother. See you on the grass that changed our lives,” the New York Jets’ first-year corner Azareye’h stated, and Juanyeh reposted, supporting it by declaring, “God is the greatest….Let’s go make momma proud.”

From the backyard to the big leagues, these are just the first major achievements in the young careers of the two defensive backs. Regardless of which team takes home the win on Sunday, the entire Thomas family will be the true winners.
