Cowboys vs Giants Expert Predictions for Thanksgiving Football in Week 13
The Thanksgiving football tradition is one of the best in sports, and after the Detroit Lions play their annual game, America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys, take center stage.
More Thanksgiving NFL Predictions: Lions vs Bears Expert Predictions for Thanksgiving Football in Week 13
The Cowboys have played important football in recent Thanksgivings, but this year is different. The Cowboys are 4-7, and are likely looking forward to a top draft pick rather than a playoff push.
Still, the Cowboys will look to beat their bitter rivals, the New York Giants, on Thursday in a battle of backup quarterbacks. Cooper Rush is getting his fourth straight start for the Cowboys after Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending hamstring injury. For the Giants, Drew Lock is expected to get his first start of the year after Tommy DeVito suffered an injury in his first start of the season following Daniel Jones’ release.
More news: Former Giants QB Daniel Jones is Signing With the Vikings
Dallas has an all-time Thanksgiving record of 33-22-1, and are on a two-game win streak over the last two seasons with wins over the Washington Commanders and Giants. Will they get another Thanksgiving victory, or will Lock lead the Giants to an upset win with all of America watching? The staff at Newsweek Sports has their predictions.
Matt Levine: Drew Lock is likely to make the start for the Giants in this game with Tommy DeVito dealing with an injury. But no matter who is under center for New York, they are a mess right now. While the Cowboys have their own issues, New York won’t be able to keep up. The Cowboys keep their extremely slim playoff hopes alive with another win.
Prediction: Cowboys 24, Giants 10
Noah Camras: This game was supposed to be Dak Prescott vs. Daniel Jones in a crucial divisional battle. Instead, it’s expected to be Cooper Rush vs. Drew Lock. Not exactly the primetime matchup the NFL had in mind. The Cowboys are favored to win after an upset victory over the spiraling Commanders, but I’m taking the Giants to get a massive upset in Lock’s first start with his new team.
Prediction: Giants 23, Cowboys 21
Ricardo Sandoval: The Cowboys seemed to have found something in their win over the Commanders last week. This week, they’ll face another division rival who will have yet another new quarterback under center for them. Dallas should win this one.
Prediction: Cowboys 24, Giants 13.
