CPAC – Kari Lake: Strong countries needed to stand up to globalism
Popular US conservative politician Kari Lake has said strong countries with a unique culture and people are needed to stand up to globalism.
Talking to public current affairs channel M1 on Wednesday ahead of the Conservative Political Action Conference Hungary conference in Budapest, Lake, who is tipped to be Donald Trump’s vice-presidential candidate, said America’s mainstream media, “the mouthpiece of the globalism, wants us to be divided; they lie about President Trump as well as Hungary.”
Hungary, she added, “has a very popular prime minister” who helps families live well.
Lake said that thanks to populist leaders who put their people first, great things were emerging from the conservative movement.
She decried “pressure in the world” to “homogenise and destabilise everything”. “We live in dangerous times,” she said, adding that there were leaders “who stand out and do the right thing for their people,” noting Prime Minister Viktor Orbán among them.
Orbán will be the keynote speaker at the conference whose motto is “Together we are strong”.
