Culture Minister welcomes high number of university entrants
Balázs Hankó, Minister of Culture and Innovation, stated that the year 2025 has seen “the most successful higher education entrance examinations in the past 15 years.”
Minister Hankó said that nearly 96,000 students have passed the entrance examinations of universities and colleges this year, adding that the number of applicants for higher education “has not been this high for the past 13 years”. He said 75 percent of the applicants won places, and 77 percent of those places were financed by the state.
Minister Hankó said Hungary’s streamlined higher education was more and more attractive for young people, and the high number of students was in line with the economy’s needs. Six freshmen out of ten will study mathematics, natural sciences, engineering or IT, he added.
