Dachshund Siblings Have To Separate After One Has Surgery…
Two dachshund siblings who were separated for two weeks after one underwent surgery have melted the hearts of viewers online after a viral TikTok clip showed their emotional reunion, drawing tears from dog lovers around the world.
The reunion, posted to the platform on September 18 by owner Tayla Bailey-Harris under @acoupleofsnags, has since been viewed more than 148,000 times and received over 32,000 likes. In the short video, dachshunds Henry and Rorii are seen curled up closely, face-to-face in a shared bed, visibly content to be back together.
An overlaid text on the video read: “My dogs after they couldn’t see each other for two weeks because Mr. Henry had surgery.”
The post was simply captioned: “They missed each other so much.”
Bailey-Harris, the dogs’ owner, described the bond between her miniature dachshunds, Henry and Rorii, as inseparable.
“Henry is a 5-year-old miniature chocolate dapple dachshund, and Rorii is a 4-year-old miniature silver dapple dachshund,” she told Newsweek. “Recently, Henry had surgery, which meant they were apart for two weeks while he recovered.
“It was a long and sad time for both of them since they are best friends and always together.”
The clip resonated quickly with viewers on TikTok, prompting an outpouring of affection in the comments.
Many viewers shared their own experiences of pet sibling bonds, and others were quick to express how moved they were by the dogs’ closeness. Bailey-Harris, 26, said the response has been “lovely” and that the video’s reach has sparked global conversations with fellow dog lovers.
“I’ve been overjoyed to see so many people comment with love and even share their own stories and photos of their pups,” she said. “It’s been lovely connecting with dog owners all over the world.”
Bailey-Harris, who lives in Sydney, Australia, often affectionately refers to her sausage dogs as “Mr Henry and Miss Rorii.”
She said their personalities are different but complementary—something viewers seemed to pick up on through the dogs’ tender reunion.

“They are snuggling face-to-face and are so happy and at peace to be reunited,” Bailey-Harris said.
“Don’t ever separate them again,” one viewer on TikTok commented, while another added: “They are literally holding paws together.”
