Davey Boy Smith’s WWE Hall of Fame Ring Stolen
The wrestling community is currently rallying around the family of the late Davey Boy Smith after a significant theft took place during a Canadian wrestling tour. Canadian Wrestling’s Elite (CWE) shared a social media post from Nigel Maxwell indicating that the promotion fell victim to a brazen break-in at their hotel in Lloydminster during the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
CWE is currently traveling across Western Canada as part of its 17th Anniversary tour, which features wrestlers from across the country. The theft occurred overnight while the performers were asleep at the Central Suites Hotel. A trailer owned by the organization was broken into and “torn apart by thieves,” who stole several items of immense sentimental and historical value.
The items taken from the trailer were primarily connected to Davey Boy Smith Jr., the son of the legend. The burglars swiped his personal travel bag, which contained his wrestling gear, a gold chain, and various pieces of jewelry. Most notably, the thieves stole the WWE Hall of Fame ring belonging to the late Davey Boy Smith, as well as a historic Hart Foundation leather vest worn by the British Bulldog during his prime. The CWE Tag Team Championship belt was also among the items removed from the trailer.

In a recent update from Maxwell, it was noted that some of the stolen goods have already been recovered. The leather vest, the wrestling gear, and the CWE Tag Team Title belt have been recovered and returned to the promotion. However, the WWE Hall of Fame ring remains missing. The ring was presented to the family in 2021 when the British Bulldog was posthumously inducted into the 2020 Hall of Fame class.
Natalya, the niece of the British Bulldog and a current WWE star, has officially offered a $5,000 reward for the safe return of the ring. She stated that the reward is “no questions asked” as the family is desperate to recover the irreplaceable piece of history.
“These are valuable items of my cousin’s and his late father’s ring gear. I’ll personally offer a 5,000usd reward if the items are returned. No questions asked,” Natalya wrote.
Georgia Smith, the daughter of the legend, also took to social media to express her frustration and sadness over the incident. She noted that the theft of such a personal family legacy has been incredibly upsetting for the entire Hart family. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are currently investigating the break-in and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Davey Boy Smith passed away in 2002 at the age of 39. He remains one of the most iconic figures in the history of the business, especially in the United Kingdom and Canada. His career was defined by his incredible power and agility, most famously displayed during his Intercontinental Championship victory over Bret Hart at SummerSlam 1992 in front of a record crowd at Wembley Stadium.
Despite the theft, CWE general manager Danny Warren confirmed that the 17th Anniversary tour will continue as scheduled. The promotion performed in Saskatoon on Wednesday night and is traveling to Prince Albert for a show on Thursday, February 26, at Plaza 88. Warren noted that the rest of the production equipment remains intact and that the focus is on delivering a great experience for the fans while they hope for the return of the Hall of Fame ring.
