Democrat Turns Attack on Marjorie Taylor Greene Into ‘Diss Track’
In a creative twist on political rivalry, a Democratic politician has taken aim at Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene by transforming her criticisms into a diss track.
The video, posted to X (formerly Twitter) by Congressman Jared Moskowitz, shows the moment Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett responded to Greene’s attacks against her during a hearing of the House Oversight Committee on Thursday.
“Just to better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blonde bad built butch body,” Crockett could be heard asking before the video repeats the “bleach blonde bad built butch body” phrase which is set against a tune.
Moskowitz dubbed the diss track “Oversight after dark.”
Newsweek has contacted representatives of Crockett and Moskowitz via email for comment.

Crockett responded: “J&J (Jared & Jazz) dropping diss tracks like we Kendrick Lamar… MTG Truly wanted the smoke tonight.”
Crockett’s remarks came after a House Oversight Committee hearing on whether to move forward with a contempt resolution against Attorney General Merrick Garland erupted into chaos on Thursday when Greene made an offhand remark about Crockett’s physical appearance.
Greene had first caused outrage when she brought up the daughter of Juan Merchan, the New York State Supreme Court presiding over former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial. Loren Merchan works as a Democratic political consultant.
Crockett then demanded that Greene explain “what that has to do with Merrick Garland,” and asked the Republican, “Do you know what we’re here for?”
“I don’t think you know what you’re here for,” Greene shot back. “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading,” she said.
Uproar then ensued, with panel chairman Representative James Comer repeatedly slamming his gavel and calling for order, and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez demanding the committee reprimand Greene for her words.
“That is absolutely unacceptable, how dare you attack the physical appearance of another person,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
“Are your feelings hurt?” Greene responded.
“Oh! Girl, baby, girl!” Ocasio-Cortez seethed. “Don’t even play!”
“Oh, really? Baby girl? I don’t think so,” Greene said.
The hearing was then temporarily suspended for a few minutes before Greene agreed to “strike” her words but refused to apologize.
She and Ocasio-Cortez then resumed their back-and-forth.
“Come on guys,” Comer pleaded.
“Why don’t you debate me?” Greene said.
“I think it’s self-evident,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
“Yeah, you don’t have enough intelligence,” Greene responded.
Things then appeared to settle down until Crockett took the mic and fired back at Greene, in a question to Comer about what constitutes a personal attack.
“I’m just curious. To better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleached blonde, bad-built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?” Crockett asked.
“A what now?” Comer asked. “I have no idea what you just said.”
Representative Anna Paulina Luna then asked Crockett to “calm down,” to which Crockett responded: “No! Don’t tell me to calm down because y’all talk noise and then you can’t take it!
“Because if I come and talk s*** about her, y’all gonna have a problem!”
At the end of the hearing, GOP Representative Lauren Boebert took it upon herself to “apologize to the American people” for the events.
“I just want to apologize to the American people,” Boebert said. “When things get as heated as they have, unfortunately, it’s an embarrassment on our body as a whole.”
