Democratic Governor’s Residence Set on Fire

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro on Sunday morning revealed that his family had to evacuate the governor’s residence after an arsonist set fire to the building.
Shapiro, a Democrat, said that Pennsylvania State Police woke him and his family at 2 a.m. ET after the fire had been set.
“The Harrisburg Bureau of Fire was on the scene and while they worked to put out the fire, we were evacuated from the Residence safely by Pennsylvania State Police and assisted by Capitol Police,” Shapiro wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Thank God no one was injured and the fire was extinguished.”
“Every day, we stand with the law enforcement and first responders who run towards danger to protect our communities,” Shapiro added. “Last night, they did so for our family – and Lori and I are eternally grateful to them for keeping us safe.”
Pennsylvania State Police have opened an investigation, and Shapiro has pledged to keep the public updated on any developments.
This is a developing story and more information will be added as it becomes available.
