Dodgers Land $20 Million Emmanuel Clase In Emergency Hypothetical Trade
🎙️ Voice is AI-generated. Inconsistencies may occur.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have a problem in their bullpen.
They have as much talent as any team, but injuries have already destroyed their pitchers. Tanner Scott has struggled this season and recently landed on the injured list. Kirby Yates has struggled, too. It’s clear the Dodgers need to add a bullpen arm or two ahead of the trade deadline.
FanSided’s Chris Landers recently pitched a blockbuster trade that would send Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase to the Dodgers in exchange for LHP Justin Wrobleski, Ben Casparius, Zyhir Hope and Logan Wagner. Would this package make sense for both sides?

“You could see both teams up in arms over this package, which is how you know you’re somewhere near the mark,” Landers wrote. “Clase isn’t quite at the all-world level he was last year, but he’s still been awfully good, with a 2.80 ERA and 22 saves so far thanks to that triple-digits cutter that remains as wicked as ever. He also comes with one more guaranteed year of team control, plus team options for 2027 and 2028. If the Guardians really are willing to listen on him, he immediately becomes one of the hottest commodities on the market.”
A trade for Clase would be a massive one, but it’s the kind of move the Dodgers are known for. The proposed package is a lot, but the Dodgers might have to include another player to get the deal done. It is one of the best closers in baseball that the Dodgers would be trading for.
I don’t think the Guardians should trade Clase, but if they’re offered a trade package like this plus a failed big leaguer like Bobby Miller or James Outman, it would be hard to say no. Cleveland needs to make some moves, and something like this could work out perfectly.
