Dog Lets Bride and Groom Know He’s ‘Bored’ of Posing for Photos at Wedding
A dog who took center stage at his human companions’ wedding found a unique way to let them know he was done for the day.
Larissa, who runs LK Photo & Video, a wedding videographer’s based in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, could not speak more highly of Digby the 10-month-old dog who was enlisted to play a key role at the nuptials.
“Digby was an utter star at the wedding,” Larissa told Newsweek. “He was part of every part of the day and even mentioned in the speeches several times. He also wore a Go-Pro during the party at night.”
Dogs are increasingly commonplace at weddings as couples eager to have a day that reflects their shared interests and personalities look to include a beloved pet into proceedings.
In a poll of 2,000 dog owners conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Amazon Handmade, 60 percent of respondents said they already knew someone who had their dog at their wedding.
These dogs appear to have taken on a variety of roles, according to the survey, with the most popular being ring bearer (50 percent); followed by flower girl (17 percent); and page boy (13 percent).
Some were even open to the idea of a dog serving as best man (9 percent). Digby might not have had a formal role like that. He wasn’t required to give a speech. However, it is clear from what Larissa says that Digby was a key part of the wedding that took place on September 28 at Drumtochty Castle, Laurencekirk.
Every dog has his limits, though, as Larissa found during one of the last photo shoots of the day.
“The wedding party were having group photos taken, and Digby was a really good boy throughout the shoot. He was always listening, sitting, lying down and posing,” she said.
However, eventually, it became clear he’d had enough. Footage captured by Larissa and shared on the LK Photo & Video TikTok channel (@lk_photoandvideo) captures the moment Digby lets out his frustrations in the most unusual of ways: by picking a fight with his own tail.
Over the course of the dizzying 28-second clip uploaded to the social-media platform, Digby can be seen chasing his own tail while the bride, groom and assorted guests look on.
“At this point, he was getting a bit bored, I think, and started chasing his tail, rolling over, lying on his back and just repeating that,” Larissa said. “It was him saying he was bored and done with photos and wanted attention.”
After a busy day in which Digby had performed all of his duties with aplomb, he could be forgiven for needing a little time out. There are certain worse ways of letting his family know and, while it may have brought the curtain down on his participation that day, the resulting footage certainly proved entertaining.
Here’s hoping Digby got a few dog treats for his troubles that day. He certainly earned them.
