Donald Trump Family Tree: Wives, Kids, Grandkids and Who Could Come to DC

As President-elect Donald Trump prepares for his second term in office, his family has already posted photos celebrating.

Trump’s family played integral roles in his first term as president from 2016 to 2020, and they were active throughout his campaigning for the 2024 election. From hosting rallies to leading the Republican National Convention, running the family business and even suggesting which podcasts Trump should appear on, those closest to Trump have already made an impact.

Here is a look at the Trump family tree and how might continue to support Trump during his second term in the White House.

Who are Donald Trump’s children?

Donald Trump Jr.

Donald Jr., 46, is Trump’s eldest child. He was active in all of his father’s presidential campaigns. In 2016, The New York Times called him a “close political advisor” to his father. Donald Jr. was centered on an issue around Russian interference in the election, having met with Russian lawyers who promised information about Trump’s opponent former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He had claimed, however, that the meeting was about the adoption of Russian children.

In 2020, Donald Jr. called for a “total war” as results were counted. He was also a proponent of the stolen election theories. Donald Jr. spoke at his father’s rally that was prior to the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6.

Donald Jr. has also promoted other conspiracy theories, such as those around the survivors of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting coached with anti-Trump rhetoric, COVID-19 misinformation and that President Joe Biden is a pedophile.

In 2024, Donald Jr. spoke at the Republican National Convention before introducing vice president-elect JD Vance.

Prior to his first term in office, each of Trump’s three eldest children—Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric—all head executive vice president titles at the Trump Organization. Donald Jr. supervised building projects like Trump International Hotel and Tower.

Donald Jr. and his brother Eric continued to make investments in foreign countries, during Trump’s first time in the White House.

Donald Jr. was married to model Vanessa Kay Haydon. They have five children: Kai Madison, Donald John III, Tristan Milos, Spencer Frederick and Chloe Sophia.

His eldest, Kai, has been more politically active during the 2024 election cycle. She spoke at the Republican National Convention during the third night.

“I’m speaking today to share the side of my grandpa that people don’t normally see,” Kia said. “He’s very caring and loving. He truly wants the best for this country, and he will fight every single day to make America great again.”

She also posted a photo caption “The Whole Squad” after Trump was announced victorious. Donald Jr. had appeared to mock Kamala Harris’ response to Joe Biden’s victory in 2020, posting on social media, “We did it Joe!!!” to celebrate his father’s presidential win.

Donald Jr. and Haydon were divorced in 2018, and he is now engaged to former prosecutor Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner

Ivanka, Trump’s second child, had her own line of fashion items, which included clothes, shoes and accessories. She applied for 36 trademarks in China between March and July 2016, seven of which were approved within the first few months of 2017. Provisional trademarks for handbags and spa services were granted when Chinese President Xi Jinping had dinner with Trump and his family in Mar-a-Lago.

Ivanka introduced her father at Trump Tower in 2015 when he announced his candidacy for president. At the time she said she loved what he was doing “as a citizen,” but “as a daughter, it’s obviously more complicated.”

She was a senior advisor in her father’s first administration, alongside her husband Jared Kushner. She did not make a salary or receive governmental health benefits during her four years with her father at the White House. She was also the director of the Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship.

Kushner was the Director of the Office of American Innovation. In 2016, he was at one point the de facto campaign manager for his father-in-law. Kushner, however, was accused of conflicts of interest and profiting from policies.

In 2017, Trump announced that Ivanka would lead a delegation to India for global women’s entrepreneurship support work. In 2019, she traveled worldwide to promote her “Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative.”

Unlike her brother, Ivanka did not address the rally on January 6, 2021.

Both Ivanka and Kushner were present at Trump’s victory speech in West Palm Beach on Wednesday. Sources have told The Express, however, that the couple will not join Trump in the White House again.

They now live with their three children—Arabella Rose, Joseph Frederick and Theordore James—on Indian Creek Island.

Eric and Lara Trump

Trump’s third child, Eric, has been running the Trump Organization alongside his brother. He was part of the work to renovate Trump National Doral in Miami, and he won the “Rising Star of the Year” award by Wine Enthusiast Magazine in 2013.

Leading up to the 2020 election, Eric defended his father by asking the Ukrainian president to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Eric called out Hunter for nepotism and said that unlike him, “When my father became president, our family stopped doing international business deals.” PolitiFact noted that the Trump family, however, continued to deal with international business after Trump became president.

Like his brother, Eric has also been a proponent of conspiracy theories, including the spread of Covid-19 and videos against Biden.

Eric and Lara Trump

A ruling from February 2024, barred Eric from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation, including Trump Organization, for two years.

In May 2024, an email was shown during closing arguments in Trump’s New York trial, which showed that Trump Organization comptroller Jeffrey McConnery had sought approval from both Eric and Donald Jr. for reimbursement payments to Michael Cohen.

Along with his wife, Lara, Eric had made multiple appearances in his father’s campaigning like they had in previous years.

Lara has been involved in her father-in-law’s political career since the 2016 election. In 2022, she was linked with a potential U.S. Senate campaign for a seat in North Carolina, but later endorsed eventual winner Ted Budd. The former president endorsed her for co-chair of the Republican National Committee in February 2024 and she was elected the following month.

With the Trump family in tighter control of the Republican Party, Trump is in a stronger position to assert his power, with less chance of internal opposition.

She has spoken proactively throughout her father-in-law’s campaign in 2024, even saying he was “joking around” when he called Vice President Kamala Harris mentally incompetent or Governor Tim Walz a moron.

Lara, however, also spread several misinformed and dubious points on January 6, Ukraine and the economy during interviews, like with The Breakfast Club. Lara has also been vocal in her attacks on Democrats and those who support the party. In an episode of The Right View with Lara Trump in April, she responded to a question as to whether she was stupid.

There has been some speculation that she would run for the 2028 presidential election, but she is seen as a wild card.

As a member of the Trump family, she would bring that legacy factor into her candidacy which others wouldn’t be able to—but which would also raise concerns over the start of a very Trump dynasty at the helm of America.

Lara has said that after her father-in-law’s inauguration, the Republican-controlled government should look into changing the U.S. election process.

“We don’t have a perfect system right now,” she told Hannity. “We have to get through this system, we have to play the hand that we were dealt. You have election season now instead of election day, and a lot of nuance around the country that makes it very confusing and really concerning for a lot of people.”

Eric and Lara have two children, Eric “Luke” and Carolina Dorothy.

Tiffany Trump and Michael Boulos

Tiffany is Trump’s second-born daughter and fourth child. The 31-year-old is Trump’s and model Marla Maples’ only child together before they divorced in 1999. Maples is Trump’s second wife after Ivana Trump and before his current wife, former first lady Melania Trump.

Tiffany had a relatively private childhood being raised by Maples in California, according to People magazine. Tiffany told People in 2016 that she would visit her father during school breaks. There have been rumors that Tiffany and her father have had a strained relationship, but she told People in 2017, “I really have an emotional bond with [Donald Trump], and he was always just the funniest, most loving father.”

She has mostly stayed out of the spotlight during her father’s political career since he first ran for president in 2016. During the 2016 cycle, she appeared at events and delivered speeches.

Tiffany did, however, give a speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in 2020.

Trump announced Tiffany is pregnant during a campaign stop in October. While speaking at the Detroit Economic Club he said his daughter is “gonna have a baby.”

Her husband, Michael Boulos, from Nigeria, was named the associate director of SOCA Nigeria, according to BBC News, and he is also the billionaire heir of the family’s business.

Boulos’ father, Massad Boulous, was leading the effort to help win over Arab American voters for Trump over the summer.

Barron Trump

Compared to his siblings, Barron has stayed away from the public eye for the most part, with his parents previously emphasizing their desire to shield him from the spotlight.

Barron is the youngest of Trump’s five children, born in 2006. He is the only child Trump has had with his current wife, Melania. The youngest Trump child was just 10 years old when his father was sworn in at the White House in 2017.

Trump has praised Barron for getting good grades in school and being a great kid. Bet-David on Thursday’s podcast called him witty and funny. Barron started college at New York University in August after an appearance at his father’s rally sparked speculation he might go into politics.

Barron’s private life, however, is likely to change as he is in college, where other students can easily take photos and videos of him and share them on social media—similar to what happened to Malia Obama, Barack Obama’s oldest daughter when she arrived on campus as a Harvard freshman in 2017.

Now eligible to vote, Barron appears to be helping Trump alongside siblings Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric in attracting more younger voters—a group with which Harris has shown stronger polling. Barron has seemingly had some political influence this election, with his father claiming Barron has been influential in reaching younger voters.

Barron has also held the role of “Web3 ambassador” with his two brothers in the cryptocurrency supported by his family, called World Liberty Financial. Trump posted recent a video encouraging people to “embrace this incredible technology.”

Trump told Patrick Bet-David on his podcast during his campaign that his 18-year-old son is not “there yet” for dating.

“I’m not sure he’s there yet,” Trump said in response to Bet-David asking if Barron “is good with the ladies in school.” “I don’t think he’s had a girlfriend yet.”

Barron had told Trump on which podcasts to appear and was the main reason the Trump spoke on Adin Ross and Bussin’ With the Boys

Who did Donald Trump marry?

Ivana Zelníčková

Trump married Czech model and former-junior national Czech skier Ivana Zelníčková in 1977. The two were married at Marble Collegiate Church. Zelníčková, who lived Canada and worked as a ski instructor before marrying Trump, held managerial positions in The Trump Organization. She also served as the CEO and president of Trump’s Castle casino resort. Zelníčková and Trump became big tabloid figures.

The couple had three children: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump.

Trump later divorced Zelníčková in 1990, following his affair with actress Marla Maples. Zelníčková and Trump were seen fighting on vacation in Aspen, Colorado, after Ivana encountered Maples.

Following the divorce, Zelníčková created her own clothing and jewelry lines. She also wrote an advice column for Globe called “Ask Ivana” from 1995 to 2010 and published books, such as the autobiography Raising Trump.

In 2022, Zelníčková died from blunt impact injuries to her torso after falling down the stairs at her home in Manhattan. She was buried at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster New Jersey.

In July of 2024, Ivanka Trump said she believed her mother was “watching over” Trump during the attempted assassination at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Trump married Maples in 1993, and they had Tiffany Trump two months prior. Maples is an actress and singer. She appeared as a celebrity guest at WWF WrestleMania and has appeared in films like “Richie Rich’s Christmas Wish” and “Two of Hearts.”

She competed in Dancing with the Stars in 2016, partnering with professional dancer Tony Dovolani. Maples finished in tenth place.

Maples and Trump were divorced in 1999. They had separated in 1997, after rumors that Maples had an affair with a bodyguard. Both Maples and Trump denied the affair despite reports in the National Enquirer.

Melania Knauss

Trump married Slovenian model Melania Knauss in 2005. A year later, the two had Barron Trump.

Melania grew up in Slovenia, which was a part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, a communist state, in the 80s.

Melania moved to the United States in 1996 to pursue a career in modeling. She became a U.S. citizen on July 28, 2006. She obtained a green card through the EB-1 visa program in 2001, often referred to as the “Einstein visa,” which is reserved for individuals with extraordinary ability in fields such as arts, sciences or business.

In an interview with Fox News, Melania said her mother moved to the United States from Slovenia to be closer to Barron, likening her to a “second mother” for him.

Many, including Fox News host Howard Kurtz, noted that Melania had “barely been visible” in Trump’s latest presidential campaign. She was absent from an image posted by Donald Trump Jr.’s daughter Kai after her grandfather’s win.

Melania did make an appearance at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally, where she called her husband’s supporters “the heartbeat of this great metropolis.” On election night, Melania joined her husband onstage for his victory speech in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The former first lady released a memoir, Melania, on October 8, which followed her Slovenian childhood, fashion career, and meeting her now husband, former President Donald Trump. It also provided “behind-the-scenes stories from her time in the White House, shedding light on her advocacy work and the causes close to her heart.”

Whether Melania will move into the White House in January has been in question, as she stayed in Manhattan for the first months as first lady so that Barron could finish school. People magazine reported that her move was “not likely,” citing “a social source close to the Trumps.”
