FM: 100 new factories are planned to be built starting this year
Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said the world economy has suffered numerous calamities such as the global financial crisis, the pandemic and the war in Ukraine together with associated sanctions, but Hungary’s economy has emerged from every crisis “as a winner”, noting that 100 new factories are planned to be built starting this year.
“We’ve reached partial agreements with Hungarian and foreign companies, and negotiations are also going well,” he said in a video uploaded to his social media page on Sunday.
Noting the employment record set this year, with 4.7 million people in work, Minister Szijjártó said jobs must be protected in a tough international environment, and new ones must be created by bringing more and more investments to Hungary.
Investment promotion has reached new heights in Hungary in the past two years, he said, adding that investments were worth 10 billion euros in both 2023 and 2024. The goal, he said, was to maintain the investment momentum.
