Former NFL QB Suggests Shocking Trade Idea for Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill

Since the end of the 2024 NFL season, Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been mentioned in a lot of trade rumors. No move has been made, but it seems possible that the team could be open to the idea of moving him for the right price.

Hill had a down season last year, but his two previous seasons were off the charts.

If he were to be placed on the trade block and shopped around, there would likely be a lot of teams with interest. That could be a scenario to keep a close eye on as the season gets closer and ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline.

A new potential trade idea has been suggested that would see Hill switch teams. The idea was suggested by former NFL quarterback David Carr.

In a new article from NFL.com about seven trade ideas before the 2025 season, Carr suggested that Hill and the New England Patriots could be a fit.

“The Dolphins might be wary of trading within the division, but if not, the Patriots and Drake Maye certainly could use Hill’s services in the passing attack,” Carr wrote. “New England has admirably overhauled the offense this offseason, and Hill would continue that trend by giving Josh McDaniels a guy who can elevate his attack to the next level due to his speed and field-stretching ability.”

Drake Maye has shown flashes of being a potential star down the road. Giving him a weapon like Hill would help speed that process up.

Right now, the Patriots have Stefon Diggs as their projected No. 1 wide receiver. Behind him, they have DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins, and Kendrick Bourne. They also have Javon Baker and Ja’Lynn Polk on the roster.

There is plenty of talent at the position in New England, but none of them are bona fide stars. Hill would bring that star power to the offense.

Last season, he caught 81 passes for 959 yards and six touchdowns. Back in 2023, he racked up 119 receptions for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns, while also catching 119 passes for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns in 2022.

Adding that kind of production to an already talented offense would take the Patriots to the next level. It likely won’t happen, but it’s an intriguing idea to think about.
