Government approves PIT exemption for mothers under 30 with one child
The prime minister said it was hoped the measure would result in more births, adding that the goal was also to ensure that women who decided to have children wouldn’t be worse off, materially, than those who didn’t.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a video message on Facebook that the government approved a measure exempting mothers under 30 with one child from personal income tax from January 1, 2026, at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
PM Orbán said it was hoped the measure would result in more births, adding that the goal was also to ensure that women who decided to have children wouldn’t be worse off, materially, than those who didn’t.
