Government office: Passengers of 3 flights being compensated for delays
The Budapest municipal government office has launched consumer protection procedures over recent delays and cancellations of 15 flights; in three cases, the airlines have assumed responsibility and started paying compensation to passengers, the government office said on Wednesday.
In connection with another three flights, the companies have cited issues with air control services as extraordinary circumstances, the statement said. The government office is expecting the professional opinion of the air travel authority on the matter. Two further cases are pending further information, the statement said.
The office and the national economy ministry will continue to carefully monitor airline companies’ performance, and champion consumer rights, the statement said.
