Guest nights down 9 percent in March
Guest nights at commercial accommodations in Hungary fell by 9.0 percent to 1,664,000 in March from the same period a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Thursday.
The number of guests dropped by 5.8 percent to 667,000, KSH said.
The number of guest nights spent by domestic travellers dropped by 17.4 percent to 825,000, while guest nights spent by foreign visitors increased by 1.2 percent to 839,000.
Revenue of commercial accommodations jumped by 25.8 percent to 36 billion forints (EUR 95.9m).
Between January-March, the number of guest nights spent by domestic travellers dropped by 9.6 percent, while those spent by foreigners grew by 15 percent, KSH said.
