Hearts Melt As Cat Only Wants Cuddles and To ‘Be Loved’ After Adoption
Adopted animals typically need time to adjust to their new homes and decompress from shelter life, but one cat did not need more than three days to realize he was in his forever home.
The tuxedo cat named Tommy felt at home within three days of being adopted. His owners, known on TikTok as @ourbali.diary, shared in a January 5 video that after those three days, all Tommy asks for is “cuddling, napping, and be loved,” the text on the video states.
The video brought in over 235,300 views, 13,900 likes, and 184 comments as hearts melted and viewers cried with joy over the adorableness of the relationship the couple has with Tommy already.
The feeling is mutual as the couple has fallen in love with Tommy. The caption reads: “Adopt don’t shop.. we have the most precious cat now.”
The first clip of the TikTok video showed Tommy peacefully resting with his paws upright That alone would have been enough to convince viewers that he was already comfortable in his forever home. But the other clips tipped the scale.
Tommy stood at the end of the bed, looking at his dad as if the owner had forgotten something. To be fair, in Tommy’s mind, something was forgotten—a kiss.
The owners never hesitate to give in to Tommy’s demands for kisses and snuggles. After all, it’s the least he deserves after living in a shelter.
“What an idealic picture, really! Well done, you,” commented a viewer.
Another added: “After 3 days! He loves it at his new home. Good luck.”
“Tuxedo cats are very affectionate and intelligent,” a third chimed in.
Tuxedo Cat Characteristics
Although it is quite surprising Tommy adjusted so quickly to his new home, especially since adopted animals can take up to three months to feel fully comfortable. Experts often mention the 3-3-3 rule. The first three days will be of a pet decompressing, the next three weeks will be them learning a new routine, and after three months, they will start to feel fully comfortable.
What isn’t surprising is how Tommy is all about affection. He is a tuxedo cat after all.
Tuxedo cats, known for their elegant coats of black and white, can live up to 10 to 15 years. They are friendly felines are very affectionate. Owners of these fancy cats might be familiar with the term ‘tuxitude,’ which was given for their easy-going personalities.
These cats have also been described as playful, talkative, and loyal. They are dog-like in a sense.
