Hearts Melt As Delivery Driver Shares How They Stay Entertained on Shift
A DoorDash delivery driver’s simple act of kindness has delighted Reddit users, after the employee shared a post showcasing their creative ways of putting a smile on customers’ faces.
The 39-year-old, who works in Atlanta, Georgia, shared the post under the username u/naomicannibal on March 6 and it has been upvoted more than 13,000 times since. It features a photo of a Burger King order delivered to a customer’s front door with an added personal touch—a paper crown carefully placed on top, with the customer’s name, Whitney, handwritten on it.
In the post the driver wrote, “I’m a Dasher who entertains myself doing small cuteness like a BK crown. I’m curious, how would you feel if you received it? Would you feel like a Burger King/Queen?” The heartwarming gesture quickly resonated with users, drawing a flood of positive reactions and comments.
“It seemed like the post made a lot of people feel really good,” the delivery driver, who wanted to stay anonymous, told Newsweek. “That makes me so happy.

“I’m over the moon that you will share it with more people, who get to feel that too.”
Newsweek reached out to DoorDash for comment via email.
The charm of the gesture lies in its simplicity—a small, thoughtful action that could create a moment of unexpected joy for the customer. For many Redditors, the image was a reminder of how small acts of kindness can brighten someone’s day, so the thread was soon filled with comments praising the driver’s creativity and thoughtfulness.
“10/10 Would make me smile,” one Redditor said.
Another wrote: “11/10 would make me smile and my cats would probably also like the noise it makes dragged around.”
“I think people forget [delivery drivers] are real people,” a third person said. “If my server did something extra to put a smile on my face, I’m going to tip them more and probably speak to their manager.
“Life sucks and if someone can take the time to be kind of the sake of being kind, why not show you’re grateful you know?”
“Man you’re one of the good ones,” another Redditor wrote, while one said: “I’d love you [for real].”
“Considering the only times I order via DoorDash is when I’m drunk, this would be fantastic,” said another. “10/10 would wear it the rest of the night.”
