How German Shepherd Takes Siblings to School Bus Since 2023 Goes Viral
A German shepherd is going viral for how he escorts his siblings to the school bus—a ritual that’s over two years old.
Owner and mom Riesha (@rieshap15) posted Ozzy’s morning routine in a clip on TikTok. Every morning, Ozzy heads out the door with her two kids, while the family’s older German shepherd watches from the deck.
“Just like the video shows, every morning he heads out, entertains them at the bus stop, watches them get on the bus and high tails it back inside once the door closes,” Riesha told Newsweek.
Ozzy’s sense of responsibility has become one of the unexpected joys of the family’s mornings.
As she gets ready for work near a front window, Riesha, who shares her children with husband Steph, watches the familiar scene unfold outside. She wrote in her caption: “Our good boy has never missed a morning of bus stop duty for two years now.”
According to Riesha, Ozzy’s chaotic puppy years are behind him. “It’s just precious, I love their relationship,” she said. “He gave us a run for our money as a puppy, so it’s been nice since he’s calmed down.”
Ozzy’s bond with the kids, she explained, is second nature. While she keeps an eye on the morning routine from indoors, she has no doubt that the shepherd would “protect them with his life.”
Riesha’s clip has gone viral on TikTok, amassing 2.5 million views. The German shepherd melted hearts in the comments.
“I swear Ozzy turned back to tell them ‘and make sure you show out in Science class babies… remember we did planets last night. You let them know,’” one user wrote.
“GSDs [German shepherds] are so maternal. Best dogs,” another added.
“My Rottweiler did this for me from age 5 to 16. When I got off the bus one day and he wasn’t there, I instantly knew. She was 14 when she passed. I’m 32 now and still miss her so much.”
Riesha said her children have enjoyed reading the comments. “For the most part they’re all sweet or emotional recalling their dogs doing that when they were kids,” she said. “It’s a German shepherd gathering in there.”
