How Sweden Is Honoring Taylor Swift Ahead of Eras Tour Dates
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Taylor Swift’s influence continues to extend far beyond her fan base, as demonstrated by Sweden’s recent tribute to the pop star.
In anticipation of her record-breaking Eras Tour arriving in the country this weekend, the country’s capital of Stockholm has temporarily rebranded itself as “Swiftholm,” as apparent on the city’s website, and was shared via X (formerly Twitter) by a fan account.
After her Paris shows, which featured notable attendees such as her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and friends like Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Swift’s tour is on a short hiatus. The “Getaway Car” singer is set to arrive in Sweden on Friday, May 17, for three performances over the weekend before heading to Portugal for shows on May 24-25.
In true Swiftie style, fans quickly took to social media to express their excitement and approval of the Nordic capital’s gesture.

One enthusiastic fan exclaimed, “Stockholm knows how to welcome a pop queen! Can’t wait for the Eras Tour to light up Swiftholm,” while another added, “AS THEY SHOULD,” showing their strong support for the temporary name change.
Some fans compared it to previous fan-made nicknames for cities like Vancouver and Toronto, with one writing, “taycouver and tayronto will always hold first place, sorry Sweden. it’s still a good name though!!!” The official X account of Stockholm even joined in, stating, “Welcome to Swiftholm,” welcoming the pop icon with open arms to the city.
Meanwhile, Swift and Kelce, both 34, enjoyed a well-deserved getaway to Lake Como amidst Swift’s brief hiatus from the European leg of her tour. The Grammy-winning artist and the NFL star were seen taking a romantic stroll and sharing an intimate dinner on May 13. Before their Italian escape, Kelce joined Swift at her final Paris concert. They were later spotted having a private candlelit dinner at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, a five-star resort known for its stunning views.
