Maryland rolled over Grand Canyon in the Round of 64 and narrowly pulled off a second-round 72-71 win over Colorado State, thanks to a game-winning shot from Derik Queen. They now get their toughest test so far in this tournament, facing No. seed Florida, who just knocked out the reigning champion UConn Huskies.
Queen will have to come up big for the Terrapins once again. He is averaging 16.2 points per game and was 2-3 from the three-point line, scoring 17 points and pulling down six rebounds in their Round of 32 win. His buzzer-beating shot that allowed Maryland to advance will likely give him extreme confidence heading into this matchup.
Walter Clayton Jr. has been moving up NBA draft boards based on his performance so far during March Madness. He has 46 points through two tournament games, and has scored at least 22 points in four straight outings. If the Gators reach the Final Four, Clayton will be the man to carry them there.
