Two of the best teams in the NBA face off on Sunday afternoon when the Denver Nuggets take the long trip to Massachusetts to take on the Boston Celtics.

Denver enters the game sitting second in the West with a 39-21 record and coming off a win. Most recently, the Nuggets defeated the red-hot Detroit Pistons 134-119 thanks to 23 points, 17 rebounds and 15 assists from three-time league MVP Nikola Jokic, as well as 28 points and nine rebounds by streaky shooter Michael Porter Jr. Jamal Murray contributed another important 31 points while young swingman Christian Braun added 23 points and six rebounds.

The Celtics, meanwhile, are coming off a tough setback. After getting off to a 25-3 start over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night, Boston fell 123-116, a particularly tough result considering many believe Cleveland to be the Celtics’ biggest threat in the Eastern Conference this year. Despite the loss, Jayson Tatum was magnificent in the outing, scoring 46 points, securing 19 rebounds, and dishing out six assists in the performance. Tatum’s sidekick, Jaylen Brown, also had a huge game against Cleveland, scoring 37 points and dishing out five rebounds.
Denver vs. Boston was the matchup many thought we would expect in last year’s Finals before the Nuggets were upset by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the playoffs, so this will be a fascinating opportunity to catch two elite teams face off on Sunday.
