Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernández each homered twice as the Dodgers opened an 8-0 lead through six innings and held off Cincinnati for a 10-5 victory in Game 1 on Thursday night. Blake Snell allowed two runs on four hits, striking out nine, in seven innings, and Tommy Edman hit a solo home run in the third inning. Hernández finished 3-for-5 with four RBI on the night.
Game 1 starter Hunter Greene allowed five runs in three innings in his first career postseason start. The Reds finally got on the board with two runs in the seventh inning and added three more in the eighth. Elly De La Cruz was 0-for-3 but drove in two runs with a groundout and a bases-loaded walk.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto (12-8) starts for Los Angeles on Wednesday, looking to clinch the series while Cincinnati goes with Zack Littell (10-8).
