Scottie Scheffler put himself in a nice position to compete for his second major title of the year after shooting a 68 on Thursday. At -3, he is only one stroke behind five other players, all at -4.

It was a tough day at the office for LIV stars Bryson DeChambeau (+7) and Brooks Koepka (+4), but John Rahm did have himself a decent day, finishing one under par.

Rory McIlroy (-1), Xander Schauffele (E), Rickie Fowler (-2), and the legend Phil Mickelson (-1) all kept themselves in the hunt heading into Friday, but there is some work to be done for them to climb up to the top of the leaderboard.

Matt Fitzpatrick is one of the players to keep an eye on Friday. He holds a share of the lead and has finished inside the top ten for two consecutive tournaments. After an eighth-place finish at the Rocket Classic, he followed it up with a fourth-place finish at the Genesis Open last week.
