Indiana Fever Make Roster Move Following 2 Season-Ending Injuries
The Indiana Fever have been through a lot this season on the injury front. While the main headline has been Caitlin Clark’s absence recently due to a groin injury, there are plenty of other injuries the team has had to deal with.
Unfortunately, two more happened that knocked two players out for the season.
Both Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald have been ruled out for the remainder of the year due to their respective injuries. That left the Fever in a position of needing another player on the roster.

At this point, no one knows when Clark could return to the court. There has been no timeline provided or any major update about her health.

That being said, Indiana has made a new roster move.
As shared by the team on social media, the Fever went out and signed Odyssey Sims to a hardship contract following the most recent injuries.
Sims, a 33-year-old veteran, will likely find herself in a situation where she could have a sizable role. She’s a guard, which is a major area of need for Indiana.
Earlier this season, Sims played for the Los Angeles Sparks. She averaged 9.8 points per game to go along with 3.5 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.8 steals, while shooting 41.7 percent from the floor and 35.3 percent from three-point range.
Throughout her entire career, Sims has played in 304 games and made 208 starts. She has career averages of 11.2 points, 3.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and a steal.
Just looking at her career resume, Sims could come in and be an impact player. She has been a starter throughout a lot of her career. It’s possible that she could be exactly the player Indiana needs in order to stay afloat when it comes to the race for the playoffs.

Speaking of the race for the playoffs, the Fever hold an 18-14 record following their win over the Chicago Sky on Saturday night. With that record, they sit at No. 5 overall in the WNBA and hold the No. 3 spot in the Eastern Conference.
Hopefully, this will be a move that pays off for Indiana. If the team can stay afloat in the playoff race and Clark is able to make a return at some point in the near future, the Fever could still be a potential WNBA Finals contender.
